A tailor pinning a jacket for alteration in an atelier
Alterations and repairs

Already love it? Have it tailored back to life.

Send a photo of the jacket, the jeans, the wedding dress — whatever needs work — and get a price offer back from a local master tailor. Choose how the garment travels there and home again, and pay only once you have accepted the offer.

The cheapest new garment you own

Most clothes are thrown away over a centimetre.

A dress hemmed for the wrong shoes, a suit jacket that gapes at the collar, a zip that gave up on a winter coat. An alteration is usually a fraction of the price of replacing the piece — and the garment you already know keeps its place in your wardrobe.

How it works

You send a photograph. We send back a price.

Nothing is charged until you accept a price from a named tailor.

  1. 01 · Ask

Find a tailor and describe the job

Filter by city and by the work a store actually takes on — hemming trousers, taking in a dress, relining a coat, bridal fitting work — then start a chat. Send a photo of the garment and say what needs doing.

  2. 02 · Offer

Get a price, not an estimate

The tailor sends a formal offer: the work, the price, how the piece gets to them and how it comes back. Nothing is charged while you think about it, and the offer expires rather than lingering.

  3. 03 · Send

Drop it off, book a pickup, or ship it

Accept the offer and the order is created. You choose how the garment reaches the atelier, and the tailor confirms receipt in the app so you always know where your piece is.

  4. 04 · Wear

    Altered, then back to you

You follow each stage — received, in alteration, ready — and the garment returns the way you chose: shipped back, collected, or picked up in person.

On the bench this week

The jobs a tailor actually takes in

Hands guiding the turned-up hem of a pair of trousers through an industrial sewing machine
A hem: pinned, pressed, then sewn to the length you asked for.
A new zip pinned into the opened seam of a khaki cotton field coat, the old zip coiled beside it and a seam ripper on the bench
A zip replaced properly — unpicked and reset, not patched over.
An altered garment in a clear protective cover being lifted from a rail of finished pieces
Covered, hung, and on its way back to the person who owns it.
What tailors alter

A catalogue of real services, not a contact form

Every store publishes the work it takes on — taking in, letting out, shortening, relining, mending, restoration — so you can search for the job you actually have.

Getting it there and back

Choose each leg of the journey

The way in and the way home are chosen separately, on the offer, before you accept it.

To the tailor

  • Drop it off at the atelier yourself
  • Have it collected from your address
  • Ship it to the store

Back to you

  • Shipped back to your address
  • Collected from the store
  • Returned by hand at the counter
Before you send anything

What protects you

You see the price first

The tailor's quote states the work and the amount, whether it is a simple hem or a full reconstruction. Nothing is charged until you accept it.

The tailor has to accept too

A named tailor has to take your job on before anything begins. If nobody takes it, the order ends there and your money comes back to you.

Cancel while it is still with you

Change your mind before the garment leaves your hands and you are refunded in full. Once it is with a carrier or the atelier, the return leg has to be paid for, and that is deducted from the refund.

Every stage is on the record

The price you were quoted, what you asked for and where your garment is are all in one place, so you and the tailor are never working from different versions of the same story.

Questions

Alteration questions

How much does an alteration cost?
The tailor quotes it. Resizing a pair of jeans, relining a coat and reworking a wedding dress are different jobs, and prices vary by the garment, the work and the city — which is why an alteration starts with a photo and a chat rather than a price list.
Do I have to buy the garment from TerzyApp?
No. Alterations are for clothes you already own, whatever their origin — bought years ago, inherited, or made by someone else entirely.
How does the garment get to the tailor?
Three ways, and you pick one on the offer: drop it off yourself, have it collected from your address, or ship it. The return journey is chosen the same way and can be different from the way in.
What happens if I cancel?
If the garment has not left you yet, you are refunded in full. Once it is with a carrier or at the atelier, someone has to pay to send it home, so a return-shipping amount is deducted from the refund.
Can a tailor work on a designer piece?
Stores list the labels they take on, alongside their own speciality services. Naming a label is a statement about the work a store does, not a claim to be authorised by that brand.
Can I have new clothes made instead?
Yes — the same tailors also make garments from scratch to your measurements, and sell cloth by the metre.
